I offer individual therapy in a supportive, yet challenging, environment. I enjoy treating women who struggle with the demands put on them by society, family, friends, employers, and themselves. I encourage clients to move toward health at their own pace, fostering an environment where self-exploration feels safe, collaborative, creative, and individualized.
My area of expertise includes anxiety, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, parenting, and difficult relationships. Although I mostly utilize EMDR therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I combine a variety of other approaches tailored to each client’s needs.
My belief and my experiences show me that upsetting life events can affect our ability to function at our best. They can prevent us from doing things that we want to do, and they can push us into doing things that we don’t want to do. Our patterns of behavior, our thoughts, and our feelings are driven by our life experiences. EMDR can release the hold they have on us, and allow for healing and transformation.
I also believe in a holistic and integrative approach to mental health. Since the brain controls our physical bodies as well as our mental well being, it is very important to address both of them for maximum results. Many physical ailments mimic and/or cause mental health issues. And many of them are easy to fix. If you work with me, we will address as many contributing factors to your overall health as we can. And like many of my clients, you will most likely see improvement in a short amount of time.
